Competitor Registration Opens Monday 19th May at 19:00 for the 2025 English Para Surfing Open!
We’re stoked to announce that registration for the highly anticipated 2025 English Para Surfing Open will officially open on Monday, 19th May at 19:00. Hosted at the world-class surf venue The Wave in Bristol, the event will take place on Wednesday 2nd – Thursday 3rd July, welcoming para surfers from across the UK and beyond.
We’re proud to be offering the 9 official ISA Para Surfing divisions, in line with the International Surfing Association’s global standards.
In addition, we’re excited to introduce 4 Open divisions tailored specifically for UK-based surfers who do not currently hold an ISA classification. These divisions are all about growing the community and providing a platform for emerging para surfers to experience competition in a supportive, welcoming, and fun environment.
We’re thrilled to return to this incredible venue in Bristol for another unforgettable event.

Surfers from all corners of the globe are welcome—this is a celebration of the para surf community!
Competition Schedule:
· Wednesday 2nd July: 14:00pm – 17:00pm
· Thursday 3rd July: 10:00am – 14:00pm
· Prize presentations will follow shortly after Thursday’s final heats.

The Surf Show is an expo that celebrates everything we love about the surf industry, held right here at The Wave just outside of Bristol. Expect exhibitors from your favourite surf, watersport, outdoor and sustainable brands.

English National Championships

We are elated to announce we have secured new dates for our recently cancelled Caravan and Motorhome Club English National Surfing Championships at Fistral Beach.
Following a devastating cancellation due to poor surf conditions in April and Early May, we were determined to ensure this elite shortboard English National contest goes ahead this year.
Dates:
Main Date: 3rd – 5th October
Backup Date: 25th – 27th October
Divisions:
Competing at Fistral Beach, Newquay will be: Shortboard Under 18’s, Under 16’s and Open (Men’s) and Women’s.
These surfers are truly the most skilful and talented competitive shortboarders in England, competing for spots to join Team England at future National and International Surf Contests.

CONTEST INFORMATION
The competition will now feature a broader range of divisions, providing more opportunities for surfers to compete for the 2025 English National Champion title. It will be a two-day, single-peak event with live scoring available throughout the contest. Both Longboard and Shortboard divisions will be competing under PRIORITY judging rules.
With strong interest expected, Surfing England recommends early registration to secure a spot.

ENGLISH NATIONAL SURFING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Surfing England’s most prestigious event with a high level of surfing, fierce competition for English Champion titles. This contest runs divisions from U16’s to Kahunas (45+), in male and female categories. The event showcases England’s top shortboarders and long boarders, Bodyboarders and SUP surfers. Results from this event are taken into account for Team England squad selections.
VARSITY UNIVERSITY CHAMPIONSHIPS
VARSITY is nearly here, and we can’t wait to be part of it! 🌊
On 26th March, The Wave will bring together 9 universities for a brilliant day of surf competition and fun. Whether you’re in it to win it or just fancy getting in the water, there’s something for everyone—Waikiki and barrel sessions included!
