ABOUT US

From a young age, Kate Richards felt a deep pull to the sea and the outdoors.

Growing up on the Cornish coast, she split her time between tennis courts, running trails, and the surf – working as a beach lifeguard, coaching surfers and tennis players, and competing in both surf lifesaving and tennis tournaments.

Her travels took her around the world, including a marine conservation project mapping coral bleaching in Brunei, a stark reminder of the ocean’s fragility. Later, while teaching in Thailand, she discovered Lemongrass House, a natural spa brand using only plant-based, chemical-free ingredients, and brought it to the UK in 2018.

Seeing the surf industry still relying on petrochemical wax, Kate launched Radical Wax in collaboration with Lemongrass House. Made from sustainably sourced plant waxes and a natural tacky resin by-product from the cosmetic industry, it delivers high-performance grip without harming the sea – now used by Team England’s Surf Team.

    Base Coat

    Our Base Coat is the first layer of wax applied to a surfboard to create bumps across the surface. Then use one of our temperature specific top coats to create long lasting hold and grip.

    Cold Wax

    Our Cold Water Eco Surf Wax is specifically formulated for colder water temperatures. Designed for conditions under 14°C, this wax ensures grip and traction, allowing you to perform at your best even in the chilliest conditions. For best results use with Radical’s Base Coat.

  • Cool Wax

    Our Cool Water Surf Wax provides grip and tack in milder conditions. Best used when water temperatures are between 15-20°C. Crafted with a focus on sustainability using premium, natural ingredients that do not compromise performance. For best results use with Radical’s Base Coat.
