From Summer Sunshine to Autumn Swells

This summer really delivered. Long, golden days, warm waters and plenty of glassy sessions reminded us just how good life by the sea can be. Then, just as August was drawing to a close, Storm Erin swept through and served up a surprise. Massive swell that gave us one last taste of how powerful the sea is and then the seasons shifted.

Almost overnight, September arrived and the air took on that familiar autumn edge. Shorter evenings, cooler breezes and softer light have already changed the feel in and out of the water. It’s a different rhythm, but one we look forward to every year.

Looking Back – Rising Tide

One of the standout moments of the summer was the Rising Tide panel at Boardmasters, where we had the chance to meet so many brilliant people working in the sustainable surf space. Hearing their stories and sharing Radical Wax’s beginnings reminded us how strong this community is when it comes together to protect the coastline we all rely on.

Looking Ahead

There’s plenty to look forward to this autumn:

  • UK Surf Skate Expo – bringing together the best of board sports and culture, on land and sea.

  • Interclubs Surf Contest at Porthtowan – always a highlight of the Cornish surf calendar and a real showcase of local talent.

  • National Championships in October – postponed back in April, this event is finally on, and promises to be a brilliant way to round off the competitive year.

Summer may have slipped away, but the waves are still calling. Here’s to autumn sessions, new connections and plenty more reasons to keep things Rad.
